If you can send an email, you can send an SMS message it’s as simple as that. Just address your email from any standard email program, to cellnumber@sms.mobilitymethods.com and it will be automatically converted to an SMS and sent via our gateway.
Our service includes an SMTP server that is capable of accepting SMTP messages and automatically converting them into SMS messages.
The recipient MSISDN is extracted as the 'username' from username@domain.com (e.g.: 271230984567@mobility.com)
in the "to" address and the "from" address is used for authentication.
The "subject" of the SMTP message is pre-pended to the SMS message text.
SMTP messages that are sent as high priority messages are sent as immediate display FlashSMS messages.
Should the content type of the SMTP message must be "text/plain", "text/html", "multipart/mixed" or "multipart/alternative", our service will automatically format the SMTP message for sending as an SMS message depending on the content type of the SMTP message.
Longer SMTP messages may be sent as multiple (concatenated) SMS messages depending on the configuration.
